7th Annual Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Coalition Awards Luncheon
When
- Thursday
- Feb. 23, 2012
- 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Description
This year, the awards ceremony will be different. To further the Coalition’s mission to educate the community on environmental building practices, a number of educational sessions and workshops will be offered throughout the day to ceremony attendants. Starting at 8:30 am, workshops covering low impact development, lifelong stewardship, the economics of sustainable development, and more will be offered. Attendants will not only get to learn the ins and outs of sustainable development; engineers and architects will also be able to earn continuing education credits.
The actual awards ceremony and luncheon begins at 12:00 pm, but attendants are encouraged to consider the morning and afternoon educational sessions. A special guest will be in attendance for the luncheon, as a guest of the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance. Congressman Mike McIntyre plans to introduce a representative of the Department of Energy, who is slated to be the special guest speaker for the day. Following the luncheon, the Congressman will tour some of the previous award-winning facilities, in order to see the great impact of sustainable planning and development in the Cape Fear region.
